Tracking your order
Tracking your order
Link your Rivian account, and Roamer follows your order from reservation to delivery day. It checks your order with Rivian about once an hour.

Do I need Roamer Plus?
No. Order tracking is free with a linked Rivian account.
Can I track an R1 order?
Yes. Roamer tracks R1T, R1S and R2 orders. An R1 order has no reservation or invite step, so its list starts at Order.
A few extras are for R2 orders: how many R2s share your paint and build, how your wait compares with the typical wait for your build, and where your VIN sits on the R2 tracker.
What can I see?
- Every step to delivery day: Reservation, Invite to build, Order, VIN, Shipment, Inspection, Delivery prep and Delivery day. While Rivian reports a step underway, it says what's happening: In transit, Being inspected, and Delivery today on the day Rivian booked. Between steps, Roamer shows what Rivian reports, like Released from the factory or In line for inspection.
- Every update from Rivian, with the day Roamer saw it.
- Your delivery day, once Rivian books it.
- How your vehicle gets to you: pickup or home delivery, the service center your vehicle ships to, and the carrier Rivian lists.
- The service center's address, with Apple Maps and Google Maps links, when you're picking up.
Rivian doesn't share where your vehicle is on the way, when it will arrive, or tracking for the shipment, so Roamer can't show those.
Can I track more than one order?
Yes. Each order has its own page with its Rivian order number. Switch between them in the vehicle picker, or with the Also on order links on an order page. Two orders for the same model show the last four digits of their order numbers so you can tell them apart. Your orders opens the one furthest along.
Why are some dates missing?
Rivian doesn't date most steps. Roamer dates a step on the day it sees Rivian report it, so a step has no date when:
- It was done before you linked your Rivian account.
- Rivian moved your order past it between two of Roamer's checks.
- It's the invite to build, and Roamer didn't see it happen. Rivian doesn't share when invites go out.
- It's the first update Roamer reads after your VIN, usually Released from the factory. Roamer can't tell how long your order was already there.
Roamer doesn't fill in a date it didn't see. Your reservation date and delivery day come from Rivian's records. Your order date comes from the payment you made to place the order, or, before Roamer has read that payment, the day Roamer saw the order placed.
Why does my order say in transit after its inspection?
Rivian sometimes ships a vehicle again after its inspection, and doesn't say why. Roamer keeps the steps your order already finished, shows In transit to a service center before Delivery day, and lists the new reading in Updates from Rivian with the day Roamer saw it.
Why isn't my order showing?
Roamer reads orders from the Rivian account you linked, so an order placed from a different Rivian account won't show. A canceled order doesn't show either. If you already have a Rivian in Roamer, Roamer looks for new orders once a day, so a new order can take up to a day to show up.
When should I start Roamer Plus?
Roamer Plus records from the moment you subscribe, so there's nothing for it to record until your vehicle arrives. Subscribe the day before you pick up, or that morning. Your first drive home is in your history, and your 14 days to cancel for a full refund cover your first two weeks of driving.
Will Roamer email me about my order?
Yes, while Rivian orders emails are on in your notification settings. Roamer emails you the day it sees Rivian assign your VIN, the day it sees your vehicle ship, and in the 24 hours before a booked delivery.
What do I do at delivery?
Accept delivery in the Rivian app as you normally would. There's nothing to do in Roamer: once Rivian adds your vehicle to your Rivian account, Roamer adds your vehicle within about 10 minutes and lets you know.
Two cases need a step before delivery day:
- You linked a secondary driver account. In the Rivian app, invite that account to your new vehicle under Drivers and keys. See Should I use a secondary driver account?
- Roamer shows Reconnect Your Rivian Account. Choose Reconnect on Account → Linked Accounts so Roamer can see your vehicle arrive.
