Your Roamer account

You have two accounts. Your Rivian account is the one Roamer reads your vehicles from. Your Roamer account is the one you sign in to Roamer with.

Why doesn't my Rivian password work in Roamer?

They're separate accounts with separate sign-ins. Sign in to Roamer with a passkey or your Roamer password. Your Rivian password is for linking your Rivian account, and Roamer doesn't save it. Changing one password doesn't change the other.

If sign-up says there's already a Roamer account with your email, you signed up before. Sign in, or see Can't sign in?

How do passkeys and passwords work?

A passkey is saved on your phone, computer or password manager and signs you in without a password. Manage both in Account → Security:

  • Passkeys: add one on each device. You can remove a passkey as long as you keep a password or another passkey.
  • Password: optional if you signed up with a passkey. Once set, you can change it but not remove it. Setting or changing it signs out your other devices and disconnects connected apps.
  • Authenticator App: asks for a code after you sign in with your password. Passkey sign-ins skip it.
  • Sessions: every device signed in to your account. Sign out any other device here.

How do I confirm or change my email?

You need a confirmed email to get recovery links. If you kept your Rivian email at sign-up, it's already confirmed. If Account → Security shows Unverified, choose Resend verification and open the link within a day.

To use a different address, choose Change email. If your current email is confirmed, it stays in place until you open the link sent to the new one. If it isn't, the new address replaces it right away and still needs confirming.

Can't sign in?

  1. On the sign-in page, choose Can't sign in? and enter your Roamer email.
  2. Open the emailed link within 15 minutes. It works once.
  3. Set a new password. This signs out your other devices and disconnects connected apps. If you use an authenticator app, enter its code.

No email? If yours isn't confirmed, choose recover your account with your vehicle on the same page and enter your email, a vehicle's VIN and its current odometer reading. This needs a vehicle in Roamer and a working link to your Rivian account, and you get 3 tries a day.

If neither works, for example because your vehicle hasn't been delivered yet, email support@rivianroamer.com from the address you use for Roamer.

Lost your authenticator app?

When Roamer asks for the code, choose Lost access to your authenticator app? and enter your email, password, a vehicle's VIN and its odometer in miles. Roamer emails you a link that works for 15 minutes. Opening it turns off two-factor and signs out all your devices.
